Prime Minister Zenawi gives warm welcome to Abdullah bin Zayed

ep-shEthiopian Prime Minister, Meles Zenawi, received here today Foreign Minister, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who arrived earlier in Ethiopia as part of his tour of a number of African countries.

The Ethiopian premier warmly welcomed Sheikh Abdullah, who expressed the hope that his visit to Ethiopia would boost relations of friendship and joint cooperation between the two countries. He said the two countries have deep interest in taking the level of cooperation between them to greater heights by opening new avenues of cooperation in many other areas.

They discussed avenues of cooperation and ways to boost them in all fields, particularly in the areas of economy and investment. They also discussed contributions of the private sector of both countries in boosting economic ties and bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

They also discussed a number of issues of mutual interest in view of the current developments on the regional and international scenes.

The Ethiopian Prime Minister, for his side, praised the level of relations of friendship and cooperation in various fields between the UAE and his country. He expressed his country’s desire to extend the bridge of bilateral cooperation to both private and public sectors. He said the two countries share very encouraging factors for the building of strong base of trust which would serve as a springboard to reaching new horizon of cooperation and fruitful economic and investment partnership.

UAE Ambassador to Sudan, Isa Abdullah Al-Basha Al Nuaimi, was present at the meeting.
